Shanghai Marathon

Highlights
  • The 30th edition starts at 7:00 at Golden Bull Square on the Bund and finishes at Xujiahui Sports Park, beside Shanghai Stadium.
  • The route passes Nanjing Road, Jing’an Temple, Huaihai Road and Xintiandi, then follows the Huangpu riverside through the West Bund.
  • An almost flat city course. The field grows to 30,000 runners, with a wheelchair race added.
  • Nearly 14,000 applicants came from 116 countries and regions, led by South Korea, Russia, the US, Singapore and Malaysia.
Good to know

The 2026 ballot is closed. Entrants collect bibs at the expo with their original passport. Spectators can take Metro Line 2 or 10 to the start, or Xujiahui (Lines 1, 9 and 11) for the finish.

Make it a trip

After the finish, walk to Xujiahui Cathedral, or head back to the West Bund riverside galleries you ran past.
